Next time I saw Gary Moore was a couple of years ago, when he was supporting B B King.... this was in Manchester at the Evening News Arena. He was just as boring, cliched and tedious as he'd ever been. One style, no variation, and..... just dull, dull, go awaaaaaaay......... .

:p See folks, it isn't just me! :p Yes, I caught that BB King tour in Bournemouth & Wembley - we stayed in the bar till BB at Wembley....

 Hi Stratman - God, he was kerrrrr-ap, wasn't he ? :p What made it worse for us was that we were sitting six rows back - the bloke in front of us jumps up and down, going "Yer a legggend, yer a legggggend".... all through Mr Moores' tedious guitar twangery..... on comes BB King, and out little chum in front starts up again...... "Yer a legggggend !!! " - all through the gig. I think he was out on day release from some mental institution......

Gary Moore appeared to have just buttered up BB King, and got him over so he could play support for him. Shall we say that Mr Moore is not our favourite guitarist ?

No, he was actually quite good at what he tried to do - I just don't want to be within half a mile of him next time he does it! He's a rock guitarist - he won't be a blues player if he lives to be twice as old as BB is now. So he was totally the wrong act to choose as support.

Snowy White would have been nice instead. :p

As for legends, well Genghis Khan is a legend. So is Hitler, in his own way.

PS Stratman - cor, nice 130 !!! :p

Ah, you saw that earlier in the thread? Yeah, it's not bad, as far as cheap old Japanese Gibson copies go! Amazing to think that it's made of plywood.

Very cool.

Very interesting clips. I notice that he uses humble Orange Drop caps rather than the supposedly superior & very expensive caps that some people swear by.

I guess the only problem with making so many mods at once is that it's hard to say how much of the tonal change is due to the pickups, how much to the Faber kit etc.

Yep, interesting.

I've already got the faber tailpiece, faber locking bridge and audio taper pot's on my navigator - which are great. :D I've never played with changing the cap's and although I've used a few different ones in the past I haven't done a direct comparison. Curently I've got Vitamin Qs fitted.

Might also try those Manalishi pickups as well one day!

Dave
