Hello there,
I am from Singapore and recently I saw this beautiful guitar up for sale. Seller says that it's a 1980 Greco Les Paul Custom, and that those made in 1980 especially are very sought after because of their exceptional build quality.
My queries are:
1.) how true is seller's statement that 1980 Greco LPs are exceptional? I understand that in 1980, there were the high-end Grecos, and also the lower-end ones. I assume this is an example of a lower-end model?
2.) Is it really from the 1980? And what are you thoughts on its value? It's going for USD450, is that a fair price? Considering the numerous knocks and dings on this guitar, which I guess takes away some of it's value.
3.) What other tell-tale signs that it's a genuine and worth-while Greco?
Thank you so much in advance. All comments are very much appreciated.
Definitely not a one-piece top;
Thick maple cap?
Short tenon? Long tenon? I don't see anything extending to the pickups cavity. Sorry, I'm pretty new,
