can anybody tell me which way to turn the truss rod nut. the bridge seems very high at the moment & the action is very low. the current strings are 10s & i want to put 9s on. i have taken the truss rod cover off & undone the nut because it seems to be backed off all the way. could this be a dodgy neck or am i doing something wrong the guitar is an LS70F. any help would be much appreciated.

Is this actually a problem? Is your bridge at the extreme edge of adjustability ie if you wanted to make your action higher could it be adjusted up?

I gotta say that when I see the words "russ rod" and "adjustment" in the same sentence it freaks me out :D

Although many people do their own t/rod adjustments there are as many people (like me) who say "if in doubt take it to a specialist" as it's one of the few setup tasks that can wreck your guitar (as a friend of mine found out to his - substantial - cost).

From my experience truss rods should only be adjusted if your neck relief is interfering with your action (ie buzzes and rattles that can't attributed to dodgy frets or if the neck is visibly out of true).

Changing from 10s to 9s should not need a t/rod adjust. But if you're worried I really would say take it to an expert and get it checked.

changing from 10s to 9s I would loosen the truss rod about 1/8 turn as a general rule, maybe even 1/4. That is if you like the way the guitar plays now. Use your own judgement.
