Hi, just got two Silver stars, one of which I'm hoping to resell locally for a profit to pay for new pickups. These guitars are great but I need a bit more bass and mid range, its just what I prefer, and something that sounds good overdriven, as I'm not in love with the sound now. Anybody have any experience with putting GFS pickups in Tokais? I was looking at the 70's Greybottom overwound non staggered pups for the neck and middle and a GFS little killer hotrails 10k in the bridge. Any advice, and will I even notice a change?

PS, one Tokai is sen ash, the other is alder, both all maple necks. The ash one is in much better condition and plays nicer (personally the one I'd like to keep), but is the alder one likely to give better mids and bottoms? It seems to be slightly higher output. Thanks very much!
