Fender miJ experts is this legit?

I just missed the cutoff by one year for the vintage section! I want to know if this is legit- it’s supposedly an extrad mij Strat but I’ve never seen one with the body pocket in pencil as opposed to stamped

I don't see anything that looks out of place, based on my experience with examples from the era

Now, as far as any claim to being an EXTRAD example that's a whole different issue and as we all (should) know nothing is cut and dried when it comes to any brand MIJ

I’m not a Fender expert but my understanding was that EXTRAD guitars used really nice woods. As in flamed maple necks for example.

Anything extraordinary about it?

Does it have and EXTRAD stamp on the back of the headstock?

Found it.

E stamped serial and (19) 86 pencil date would coincide with the era in which examples typically did not have the EXTRAD logo on the back of the head stock

You would need to see under the pick guard
the pots and pick ups should be USA made
I've seen pots dated 1982 for a 1986 Extrad
