Custom tokais here in Finland

Has anyone seen these custom Tokais, that they sell in Finland?

Hi Hakkis, thanks for the link. OK, so these are the so-called Custom Shop models, about which I know little or nothing (recent introductions I presume?) :roll: .

Spec?s. seem pretty good in terms of wood & fittings ? although prices also look high (if I have my conversion right), eg Strats $2039 to $2294 (GBP1110 to GBP1250), and Love Rock at GBP1660 ($3047) . All surprisingly light too (none of them weigh anything!). Can?t read the Finnish bits, but LS200 just seems to say ?flamed maple top? (be helpful if it said ?solid maple?, or whatever) ? see they have a link to the Registry too :-? .

I have heard that those Custom models are specially manufactured for Finnish importer (Musamaailma). I dont know if anybody else is selling them?

Is that a MIK Love Rocks with Zakk Wilde EMG's? They might have the best selection of new Tokai's anywhere in the World.

The strats have the correct headstock . Haven't seen a Tokai with that since the late 80's! The new AST-50 I bought in 2002 had the modified headstock. It's weird that they are still called ST-50 since the model number normally shows the price in yen (ST-50 = 50000 yen). Anyway, nice guitars!

I think the "Zakk Wylde" Tokai LC80 they have is just something they made up..took a LC80s and installed EMGs in the store. They have done a similar thing with the Tokai strats and Seymour Duncans, selling "Seymourized" strat models (not the same as those mentioned in this thread, cheaper ones). The prices are reasonable though, because it's only guitar + pickups so it's kind of cool.

I read that they have gotten some of the MIJ PRS copies as well, I have to go check them out!

Well, the price on the Finnish site for the AST-50 strat is very reasonable so it probably is for the RG-40 as well.

I agree! I think you'll also get another problem. Since Switzerland isn't a part of EU I guess you'll have to pay tax and customs fee (in Sweden it's 25% + 3% on top of the guitar price and shipping cost ).

I bought my latest guitar directly from the manufacturer in Italy, they took care of everything and sent the guitar with FedEx express, two days later FedEx delivered it to my doorstep! The cost was 40 Euro. Excellent service!

Have you checked some of the German stores? They tend to carry a wide variety of Tokai's as well.

Since it's a store I would be more apt to trust them although I don't understand why they won't ship to you, unless they just don't ship.

This was he swiss importer of Tokai but they seem to have stopped selling them: http://www.musicolar.ch/

This store in Germany sells Tokai but only the japanese models it seems:

I bought my AST-50 strat from http://www.siggi-schwarz.de/ - but I don't think they sell Tokai anymore.

I think you should buy the guitar from UK if they are willing to ship to Switzerland.
