Fretboard looks like ebony to me.

Pawn shop owner thought it was Rosewood. It was music/pawn shop so he was familiar with guitars. The bridge looks more like Rosewood than Ebony to me too.

The earliest Korean Tokai I have found was from the 1970s and was an acoustic.

Sigma & Martin used a sort of hybrid production method where parts were cut in Japan and assembled in the US and they called them made in America.

These orange label guitars are odd. A lot of bang for the buck. Quite the mystery IMHO.
