Hi,

I tried searching for how to identify a genuine Burny Supergrade, but to not much success. How do I verify the claim that it is an 89 model?

Here are some pictures, I'm contemplating on purchasing this. Condition is minty, neck pickup is the VH-1. Pictures were provided by seller.

Firstly, what do you guys think about this?
Should I go for it or wait for something else to come up.
Secondly, How does the Burny supergrades compare to the other 80's LP copies?

Please pardon my ignorance, and thank you in advance for reading and replying.

There's some great info on Burny guitars here:

http://www.japanguitars.co.uk/burny%20info.html

It's definetely from the late '80's you can tell by the truss rod cover shape, and I have no doubt that it's genuine, the early '80's Burny's have a better reputation, I've played a few later Burnys some have been great, and some just OK, so really playing it before you buy would be best if you can.

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. So the preference goes to the earlier 80s, that is enlightening.

I'll most definitely try it out though. But the problem is that I've not had a chance to play many early Burny's, Tokais, Grecos etc. So I do have a basis to compare them with.

Anyway the link you provided is dead?

Thanks again! :D

Anyway guys, what are the going rates for supergrade burnys.

This one here is going for USD 660. Is that a worthy price for consideration?

$660 sounds like a pretty good price to me!
