Yup... saw that.

I'm a big J Geils fan - their early stuff was kick ***. Caught all of their shows on the West Coast back in the 70's - this guitar always made an appearance. I think this is that guitar in action:

Their early 70's stuff was their best before they hit commercial success with their songs Freezeframe and Centerfold in the 80's - still good but the early stuff rocked more. They were one of the hardest working, funky bar band / party bands around. Magic Dick (the harmonica player) is a legend. Peter Wolf the singer was married to Faye Dunaway for a period of time. I'd recommend these albums:

The J. Geils Band (1970) #195 US
The Morning After (1971) #64 US
"Live" Full House (1972) #54 US (US: Gold)
Bloodshot (1973) #10 US (US: Gold)
Blow Your Face Out (1976) #40 US
Monkey Island (1977) #51 US
Sanctuary (1978) #49 US (US: Gold)

very very interesting. Thank you Marcus for your valuable musical suggestions...

Any time..... one more tidbit

After the band split up, J Geils and Magic Dick formed a band called Bluestime - came out with one CD titled Bluestime that is quite good.

J Geils has also collaborated with Duke Robillard on an album or two. Check those out - some really great guitar playing by J and Duke. Like I said earlier, Mr Geils is a very accomplished and highly underrated guitar player.

250k is too much these days.
Well, unless somebody values the meta value of "belonging to a rock star".

Today a nice fully original 59 FT goes for 250k.
A couple of years back around 400k.
And the dealer guaranteed and promised their ever increasing value when I sold my house and soul to buy one :D

Did he/she mention a time frame for measuring that ever increasing value?

You should do all right in the end.

I don't have a 59 FT.
Just made fun of the never ending sales conversations I heard over the years. "These guitars never drop in value".

These days a 52-53 LP Isn't much more expensive than a top of the line Reborn LP was a couple of years ago.
