1980 Love Rock - Gotoh pups Hex-pole

Nice looking early 1980 Love Rock (LS50?), but no bids for some reason - maybe 3-piece top puts buyers off, though it looks to have some nice mild figure. Interesting pups with hex pole-pieces (subject of recent discussion here) ? reliable Japan-based seller says they?re Gotoh Pafs (presumably original?) :-? .

I see that 1980 burst has the single ring tuners. I thought they would be double ring on that year.

Hi Loudmouse ? yep quite right, hex poles on that one from Japanoldguitar too (also an LS50). Does seem like evidence for those hex types being original Gotoh fittings :-? .

I think 1980 was cut off year for double rings, so you?d probably see doubles in the first part of 1980, & then singles later in the year. Incidentally, I did some checking about that on the Les Paul Forum ? seems like Gibson used single rings until 1960, & then briefly used double rings from late 60 or 61 (not sure how long Gibson persisted with doubles).
