The LS150 boomarang, cancer, catheters and hospital food

I'm going to look into the hollowed out strat body with very light klusons and a slim Tele neck. Checking the individual weight's it should balance like a normal Strat. Have you got that LS150 syndrome ? Put it in a corner , walk away and then come back and pick it up ! I used to call that...

    Fretboard inlay finish flaw

In the UK they call it tonse ( well they did back in the 80's ). I used to work in a car repair shop as a kid and oftern you would hear one of the panel beaters say " Knock up some tonse and whack it in the dent ", After watching American Hotrod I noticed they call it Bondo ? Sounds a bit...

    Fretboard inlay finish flaw

We looked at my LS150 last night and there is no filler that we could see around the inlays ( which was nice ). I noticed that filler started to show more on post 2005 Tokai's for some unknow reason ? But some of the Gibson Standards I have seen are more like car body filler :o On the back...

The LS150 boomarang, cancer, catheters and hospital food

I was thinking of either a very premium ( and no doubt expensive ) Swamp Ash strat body hollowed out ( think Thinline Tele ) with one pickup, fixed bridge and a lightened neck for balance. OR Tada A Wesley Travel Guitar :)

The LS150 boomarang, cancer, catheters and hospital food

Many thanks for all the kind words. The LS150 went to a new home tonight and to an extremely nice person. Sorry to all the others that expressed interest, but I'm sure other LS150's will surface. I shall continue to look at the forum. I have a guitar builder in mind to build me a new strat...

The LS150 boomarang, cancer, catheters and hospital food

I cant sit too good at the moment and that could be a long term issue. I was thinking about one of those travel guitars and then drilling holes in the body or getting a new body made out of very lightweight wood for my strat and just keeping one pickup and a fixed bridge. There is always the...

The LS150 boomarang, cancer, catheters and hospital food

If that still appears to be a reasonable price, then I may ask ?695 for a very very quick sale. I will mull it over . I'm not out to make anything ( in fact I know I will lose money ), but I dont have the mobility to parcel and post it, so someone will have to come to me :( I will be the best...

The LS150 boomarang, cancer, catheters and hospital food

Been away for a while due to a battle with cancer. But that's another story for another day. Now back to the LS150. As you may remember ( or not ), some time ago I had a selling spree. I pretty much sold off 98% of all my gear including many Tokais. I think the above post title might give...

Tokai es-120 finish - poly or nitro?

Noooo I was working on the guitar at the time and moved it too close to where she doing her nails, so its my fault :(

Tokai es-120 finish - poly or nitro?

Two of my LS150's were Nitro only, no poly sealer. In other words, Nitro grain sealer and top coat. My wife dropped nail polish remover on one and it went through to bare wood ( try that with Poly and it will laugh at you ). The second was battle worn through gigging and went through to bare...

Very weird find : LS150 with oil finish

This needs some further checking out, but here is the basic info. I got a call from a friend last night who has just bought a 2005 Tokai LR LS150. It's a genuine bonafide Tokai, I've done all the usual checks ( pickup cavitys, control cavity etc ). All exactly the same as my 2005 LS150. Heres...
