Oh yes i see the =5, which is good. Does this mean the body and neck are original and its a springy, any idea how old it might be? dont mind how specific you are, i realise its hard to pin point the date.

Help indetifying and dating a lefty with modified decal neck

Ah thanks for putting me straight regards springy vs goldstar, i guess my dissapointment was misplaced. Also very pleased to here the neck is probably a tokai neck. Couldnt see a 2=5 anywhere on body. Is there a perticular place i could look for this? Or does this probably the body isnt...

Help indetifying and dating a lefty with modified decal neck

stratman, thats my exact problem, people tend to either want a tokai or a fender, not a fenderised tokai. but as jacco said, i believe the value is primarily in the neck. As far as the springy comment, i didnt mean to offend, i was just under the impression that the goldstar is more highly...

Help indetifying and dating a lefty with modified decal neck

Thats a little dissappointing if it is a springy, although nothing to get worked up about, still a lovely guitar. Dont have a picture of the neck stamp, seam to remember taking it off at some point and finding something that didnt help much although i can do that tomorow if i remember and get a...

Help indetifying and dating a lefty with modified decal neck

hmm, i didnt think it was rosewood, but could it be a maple cap as others have suggested, i does appear that there is a thin layer of wood 2mm ish that looks different to the bulk. We spoke over the phone about this so he may have got mixed up without it in front of him. sorry for any confusion...

Thanks very much for the help Stratman. Unfortunately the noise from the guitar was somewhat unuseable when any amount of dostortion was used, i dont mean metal distortion, but rather rock and blues and particularly solo sounds. The noise was farily audible even when i was playing let alone stop...

sorry but i just realised that the tuners say "DELUXE" not "MXCRMO" basically this is what went wrong D E L U X E If you turn your head to the side you will see what happened  Any clafication on what this is. I believe the V1 pickups suggest its a goldstar, but is 84 a good estimate...

Help indetifying and dating a lefty with modified decal neck

I have a black left handed, what i believe to be Tokai 80s strat. 5 of the 6 saddles have "final prospec" written on them and the pickups are Tokai V1 models. The plate on the back of the neck has "21221" on it and the backs of the tuners have, i think "MXCRMO" on them. The decal, as can be...

Help identifying and dating modified left hander

HI Honest answer is not sure - although want a fair price also important it goes to someone who will play it Not in hurry as have to wait for its replacement to be finished and bedded in - need two guitars at gigs - being left handed cannot easily borrow one If you are down my way and want...

Help identifying and dating modified left hander

I have a black left hander, serial number on neck plate 21221, Tokai V1 pick ups with Final prospec saddles and maple neck. It is in very good condition (I have it regularly serviced as I use it for gigs). However it has been modded with neck decals - very good strat copy 1961 I think c/w patent...
