Creating a thread to collect pics of LCs from the 70s and 80s primarily.

I still don't have one myself, and probably won't anytime soon, but I can look. 8)

One day I would love to have an LC100 or 110 with the single piece body.

In the late 70s and early 80s the LC100 and 110 had mahogany bodies and ebony boards, and the LC60 had a rosewood fretboard.

They were introduced early on in the Tokai line.

LC LOVE ROCK CUSTOM SERIES
Based on the standard 1954 model, the custom model complete mahogany that was announced as the highest grade model in the series -1 piece body, custom cell binding, ebony finger board, block inlay, gold parts Gorgeous specifications. The sophisticated mellow and jersey sound is worthy of the nickname "Black Beauty Fretless Wonder", and it is overwhelmingly popular and used by many professional guitarists. The Tokai LC series beautifully reproduces the 1957 model with PAF humbuckers mounted on this '54 original body. The body structure is the same as the original material, the Kluson pegs, and the mahogany one-piece neck connection create an earthy and straight sound that is unique to the LC series. With gold parts, old special parts, etc., the performance worthy of being called a guitar king will meet the needs of vintage guitar enthusiasts as well as professional guitarists

From the Spring 1982 catalog.

LC LOVE ROCK CUSTOM SERIES
Modern engineering and Kraftwerk, Has there ever been a guitar that has reached such a high degree of fusion.

●Headstock and pegs/beautiful binding unique to custom. It is the appearance of the headstock. This binding is made up of 6 plies of cream and black from the outside, which tightens the entire head part and gives a rich feeling to the contrast with the gold type pegs. Tokai's logo "hearts and flower" inlay is also a new image, and it perfectly demonstrates the fun of the Les Paul series' top model.
●Neck: Like the LS series, the LC110 100, a 1957 model, uses the highest grade mahogany one-piece neck with a neck angle of 18°C, boasting excellent neck strength as well as outstanding acoustic characteristics.
●Fingerboard & Fretting/Fingerboards are available in two types: ebony fingerboard (LC110, 100) and rosewood fingerboard (LC60). Position marks are custom-specific block inlays. (LC110,100) and ② Overbinding (LC60).The finish is perfect like the LS series, but please be careful not to scrape too much and make the letters fretless wonder.
●Body '57 model The body of the LC110,100 is a one-piece mahogany top and back, and the body of the LC60, which is a refinement of the reissue model, is a mahogany two-piece top and mahogany back. The body binding is the same as the traditional model, earthy, straight, and tenacious. A certain sustain is born from such a body. Amazing body processing.
●As you know, Tokai adopts an amazing "computer-controlled 3D router". Precise, unrivaled mechanical power and delicate craftsmanship. The perfect replica model has been born one after another with the participation of .
●The finish of the details is also perfect. This should be called true cost performance, and it has demonstrated its ability in all other Tokai series such as LS, LC, ES, etc.
The boring process of the LC and LS series is also amazing. The length is about 38cm, the drilling machine is more than 2m, and the drill is 50cm.
These are just a few of the technological prowess that Tokai is proud of.There are still many, many hidden technologies that can be found in a single guitar.
●Pegs. Tuning is the lifeline, especially with guitars. This peg is important. The LC series mounts the original Kluson GS503 on the LC110 and 100. The LC60 uses the old Kluson gold type peg, which is the result of the sweat and tears of the project team.

●Pickup. Tokai's technology is also used in the pickup, which is the cornerstone of the sound. Newly developed LC vintage><LC die Namik> clearly asserts their individuality... Wrap yourself in a shiny gold pickup cover. As I've said many times, this pickup wouldn't survive at all without the perfect hardware.
Of course the mahogany connection of the LC series is intense. The sticky sustain that is different from the maple top is really comfortable. From jersey sounds to hard distortion, it's perfect.
The LC110 has the familiar 3P.U. specifications of Peter Frampton, and its sound variations range from straight to phase-out sounds. It is a high-quality specification that has condensed lead work and side work into one guitar.
Removing the pickup cover reveals a double black bobbin with a square window. The power is different When you come this far.
Mounting ring/Black type mounting ring is adopted for all models, and the contrast with the gold pickup is also goody.
The shape is made with exactly the same dimensions as the original custom, and the rear pickup side is quite deep like the LS series, so even modified kids can firmly support the coil. It goes without saying that the bottom is flat.
●Saucer Knobs & Switches Knobs/saucer knobs are black on all models. This knob, which is largely different from the standard gold type, is also interesting because the shape is largely different between the old model and the current model. All LC series models use this old type saucer knob.
●The switch knob is also the same, adopting the old type. Everything uses quick and reliable control actions.
●Bridge & Tailpiece/Bridge & Tailpiece are gold type with beautiful finish. Shape and material. All reproduced with the same material as the original (LC110, 100). You can adjust the pitch and string height as you wish.
●This system called T.O.M. was first adopted by Custom in 1954. It is a special mechanism with a long history. Of course, it's no good if the switch or wiring section makes noise just because the control source circuit/pickup is humbucking.
Of course, this is not the case with Tokai guitars. First, a newly designed printed circuit board was adopted for the controller. By doing so, the reliability of the electrical characteristics is greatly increased, and the maintenance aspect is also improved. Killing two birds with one stone. In addition, the wood inside the controller is coated with conductive paint, and the back cover is covered with metal.
●Color The LC series comes in 3 colors: the factory original option color Wine Red (WR), the original color Black Beauty (BB), and the beautiful Cherry Sunburst (CS). LC110 and 100 are lacquer finish. The warm and tasteful colors create a good feeling

LC series headstock with newly reborn hearts and flower inlays. Cell binding and gold parts Gamilyoku. The LC100.110 uses the original Kluson GS-503 peg. It's a wonderfully shaped neck bag

32Mf1ZP.jpg

Mahogany one-piece body (LC100/110) It's a solid single-plate body with no ply from the top to the back. Same specifications as the original

9vK8Yu2.jpg

When it comes to a one-piece mahogany body, naturally such a special machine is required. This will open Jack → PU → Toggle switch at once

gVjfPjv.jpg

The pickup is an LC. Vintage & Vintage MKII with a double black bobbin wrapped in a gold plate. With square window

ZC6OTbQ.png

Block inlays and ebony fingerboards are also major features of the LC series

XSD9EMI.png

Bridge and tailpiece are of course gold parts. The shape and materials are all the same specifications as the old

CthkV3i.png

Familiar old-type switches) stand out on the body of Black Beauty. Korenanda Yone, Old Milyok

Ul9tGGc.jpg

The saucer knob is also black. This is also very unusual. After this, the reissue model will have a plate on the head

No logo. Re-issue of a 1981 model ??

Seller is saying it is an SEB custom order...

Would be nice to see the back of the headstock.

CAUTION... This seller/broker is listing at least 3 guitars that I know have already been sold. Two of them were sold about a year ago (ST70 and TE120) ...

Awesome. That's a beauty!

I don't have an LC, but I do have an all mahogany LS100S. Love that guitar. Sounds amazing, and sustains for days.

1979 LC100 BB

Description of item

* TOKAI Tokai LC-100 1979 year made super rare diamond inlay all maho ebony fingerboard Les Paul custom search for LS100
* Japan Vintage les Paul Custom LC100 LS100 for search
★ This is a rare LC100 made in 1979, judging by the serial number on the back of the headstock and the "100" stamp on the fingerboard.
The diamond-shaped diamond inlay on the head is rarely seen. PU Front: Duncan "59" SH-1/Rear: Duncan "JB" SH-4
The peg has been changed to Glover's floating letter type (rare). but the genuine Kluson 501VX
(Commonly known as waffle bag, it seems to be the same as the original 1950s) is also included.
The binding is fret edge binding. Weighs about 3.8 kg. Lacquer coating that shows wood grain even with black filling,
It is a luxurious specification that can not be thought of now with a beautiful arch on the top of good quality wood. Among them, the material of the fingerboard is noteworthy.
★ Checked sound output. Perhaps the previous owner didn't play it much, but it's in extremely good condition considering it's age.
I think there is still no problem with the frets. There is also room for the truss rod. Although there are scratches, dirt, some gully in the volume, some contact failure, etc.
I think that there is no problem in use if maintenance and adjustment are performed.
The parts shown in the 9th and 10th photos are all original parts that have been removed. (One PU cover is missing. The original PU has been disposed of due to disconnection.)

●The more you look at the LS head stock, the more graceful it becomes. Love Rock and old type small headstock. A word of excellence.

Pq2exzj.png

● The neck back of the head stock is as you can see. Old Klusons tuning peg is the best match.

PTXUguJ.png

●Old style head angle. The sound born from this tension is truly a great standard sound.

crKDkpd.png

●Fret edge binding. All of the Fretsu Tomo edge treatments are excellent. I want people to experience the wonders of Tokai Kraftwerk.

Q6QruaB.png

●Body ②: Tokai's proud Peace Connection. This is a mahogany standard body construction that makes me happy.

DPiseie.png

● Body: First, let's take a side view of Tora moku Standard. The wonderful finish, which can be said to be a work of art, is the target of the world-famous musician Kamo!

Q07atmz.png

●As you can see, the carved top has a beautiful shape with a flat central pickup section.

oNJ0or4.png

●This is the one-piece mahogany neck that became the dawn of replica models. It goes without saying that this is the first of its kind in Japan, but it is also the number one in the world.
