Just use a decent sized Phillips head screwdriver and apply pressure down into the screw so you don’t mess up the screw head. Take your time.

Look at the 4 screw heads securing the neck to the body closely, if the neck has been off before there maybe very slight evidence of a screwdriver in the past. It might just be the photo but the two screws on the left when looking at the plate look they are showing signs of action.

It does look the neck has been off before. It was not unknown for guitar salesman to swap Tokai necks from maple to rosewood and vice versa for a customer,( or for themselves) back in the day, especially if they had several models in the shop at the time. Somebody may well have ended up with the opposite swapped around. Originality didn't come into it, Tokais, although well regarded were still seen as a copy guitar.

Did you ever take the neck off and see if the code there is similar to the one on the body?

The 4 digit serial number is very odd on this guitar, but I have seen other oddities in this period.

Some guitars did not fit the Fender style serial number system in use 1982-1986.

One non conforming guitar was the TST-56/62 and the AST-56/62. Some of them were 4 digit serial number guitars.

They had altered headstocks for the American market. Wondering if someone switched one of those necks?

Btw, what country did you buy it in?

Also, it’s a late 1983 or 1984 guitar if it is actually a Goldstar with E Pickups.

Any updates?

I am assuming this is a mismatched neck & body and maybe even neck plate.
