I’m the new owner of 8001566 up above.I can confirm that it is an early 78’ ST 50 with U pickups, though routing cavity seems to have been painted black or is this factory?
Very nice condition.

Sounds like shielding paint. Tokai did not do that. They used a brass ground plate to help control interference/loose ground.
