I finally opened up my 1983 TST70 yesterday.... Made a sort of unpleasant discovery.

Seems that this guitar was stored some place that got hot enough to melt the spacers for the pickups. I have never seen that before. Bought it from a dealer in Miami.

Neck is fine. Looks like that was the only damage. Not sure how to clean it up? Just ordered Fender spacers from Amazon.

Like the code, "If 6 was 9?"

Further validation that my TST70 above is from 1983 is that the TST70 appears in the 1983 catalog and is missing from the 1984 catalog and does not show up thereafter...

So the ST70 is from model year 1982-1983. Some guitars show up late in 1981 as the new models appear on the market.

Google translation form the 1983 catalog.

VintAxe scan.

TST70-Y5/1961 RARE MODEL / *70,000
"One of kind" The TST70, which makes an excellent old mania as a guitar, a slightly manufactured "maple fingerboard neck" model in the mid-'60s, original with high-grade hardware. Appeared with the same pickup assembly as the material mounted.

TOKAI ST70 YS “Maple Cap” made in 1981

( 64 specification pasted maple , It is a very rare guitar that is treated as a "phantom guitar" even in vintage guitar shops.Details below)

● It was only listed in the catalog for one year in 1982, and there are many people who do not know of its existence, even in Japan. A super rare ST70 that is rarely sold in second hand.

● In the Pre-CBS Smallhead period, the “Maplecap” was published in the famous strat book “The Galaxy of Strats” as “1964 Maplecap Stratocaster”, and this extremely small number of specs were reproduced. is this product.

("Maple fingerboard" = "maple cap" is a specification often seen in fenders after 1967, which is also famous as a Jimi Hendrix specification, but it is very rare as a "pre-CBS period = small head") ST70

, Based on the 1964 model of this specification (a guitar owned by the famous guitarist TAKANAKA), in addition to the maple cap neck, the yellow sunburst, 11-point 3-ply pickguard, small head, etc. make this rare specification. Reproduce the 64ST.

● Even in the photo of the end of the fingerboard, you can see that a maple fingerboard with a thickness of about 6 to 7 mm is attached to the maple neck / see photo ● Even the original fender uses this “small head maple cap”

. It took 40 years to release the C/S specification Strat, but Tokai produced only a very small number in 1981.

● This product was manufactured in 1981, the previous year, in line with the timing of its release in 1982.
(Serial number: 10XXXXX)

● Pickup: Vanzandt (TRUE VINTAGE) x 3 replacement

● Assembly (CTS pot x 3, capacitor, CRL switch), pickguard replacement

(E stamp PU is also good, but the amp sound by Vanzandt TRUE VINTAGE is , It's a very good feeling with a more vintage feel)

● There is no "trace of breakage / breakage repair" on the back of the head and neck.

● Both the truss rod, tightening, and loosening work.

● PU output, all control knobs, and switches function.

Thank you

● I was able to use the orthodox string height setting without any problems.

● The neck is not a triangle, but a general U shape. It features a grip with a "thickness" on the low frets, but you don't feel an unpleasant thickness. (Feeling that "there is a moderate grip feeling" / Since the taper angle is shallow, the grip after 5F is a general thickness)

● Only a simple soft case is included. We will ship the package in a way that does not affect the main body before shipping. ● Please

check the photo and the contents of the above description, and start at a low price of 1000 yen. Please be sure to read the <Notes> below, and bids will proceed with the procedure after a successful bid assuming that you understand this, so please read carefully before bidding

. Please be sure to read the common description of items>
