I've got one of these. TST40 OW. 228757
It originally had trap tuners and ceramic pups which i have swapped out for better quality. I love this guitar, gigged with it for years. Always wondered what year it was, looks like July 87. I'll see if I can dig out the old pots.

Found them. They appear to be the same as ST pots. No code.

Interesting. Those are earlier pots. The switch is cheaper plastic too.

Wonder if someone used an old harness? Or maybe it was switched? Do the solder joints look clean?

What have seen is that they were phased out in 1986.

Here is a 1987 TST40 from the previous page with the pots I see from this period as well as the switch.

And here is the progression I have seen in pots.

Dates are rough.

The solder joints do look clean. The plastic switch is a VLX53 which google tells me is made by Gotoh. Fujigen used them in Ibanez/Squier/Fender guitars. Must be a replacement at some point. The wires were not clipped together either so I'd say someone's been in there and replaced the pots and switch. Nice to have a set of spare ST pots, didn't realise I had them.
