Here is another beautiful Tokai being offered by “Brian‘s House of Music and Fun” on Reverb. His brick and mortar is called Monster Music and is in Levittown, New York. This guitar was stunning to see in person though I did not play it at the time. I became enamored with a 2003 Dean Hardtail Quilt 577B7686-EA2B-4E60-987F-8157FA4FF713.jpeg

I am ok with the veneer top. I think Tokai did a great job selecting the wood and applying the veneers.

So that is something that does not bother me at all.

Looking at the photos you can see this guitar used to have Grover tuners and there is some damage to the headstock veneer.
 
Interesting to see the “Love Rock Model” script fading.

I saw a video that I think Homer J Simpson posted that showed them silk screening it on a headstock. Pretty wild. Not sure if all were/are. Some seem prone to wearing off.
 
Exactly. Seems to be over the finish. At least on some.

Here is one I own. 1982.
