Odd examples of Goldstar labeled Telecaster guitars.

ATE head stock shape.

Made in Korea.

Hard to believe that any of these are legit and authorized by Tokai in Japan.

Tokai electric guitar Telecaster goldstar sound ATE30 from Japan | eBay

Purchased at a music store in 1999.

I used it for about two years after I bought it, but after that I hardly ever played it.

Metal parts can be seen to change over time.
The tone can be adjusted normally, but the knob is loose, probably due to the deterioration of the parts.

Sound output has been confirmed.

guitar specs
* Body material Alder
* Neck material maple
* Fingerboard material: maple or rosewood
*Bridge TE-VBK
*Microphone TE-Vintage MK3

ATE30 is a model before the model name change to ATE33, and the specifications seem to be the same.

It seems that the old Tokai Gakki guitars are gaining popularity in recent years.
Of course you can use it as it is, but how about using it as a custom base?

They might still be making them?

Truss rod adjustment at the headstock on this one.

"About 2 years ago I bought a Tokai Tele in the style of a Black Telecaster Custom. The headstock says made in Korea and the serial number starts with J310. The guitar plays, looks and sounds great but out of curiosity I wanted to find out more about it but cannot locate any info on it.

Here's the other odd part, the neck says Tokai "Goldstar Sound", it's the USA design headstock and is narrow like a tele not wide like a strat. i.e. similar to the Breezysound or ATE headstocks. The neck is a fat C shape with 21 frets and from all angles this guitar looks brand new. No marks, scratches or fret wear of any kind."

Help finding info on a Tokai Tele Custom
