Here’s the bass circa 1994 without the countersunk holes.

Same "S" mark in the neck pocket as the above HSS Goldstar.

Similar serial number to HSS Goldstars, six digit number starting with 01xxxx.

No serial number.

Looks like they end during the period that the no serial number, all caps "MADE IN JAPAN", Goldstars were made. Some of these guitars have the countersunk holes and some do not.
