3 Piece Script Logo Goldstar Decals 1982/83

ATO mentioned these unusual decals in another thread that bluejeannot has been trying to bring to our attention for years. Since 2011 at least.

Just wanting to document examples of this transitional period in.

Looks like the 3 piece script logo decal may have appeared as early as December 1982 ???

3 piece decal over older block logo decal residue.

Looks like mdvineng's VS bass got the same treatment, multi piece decal over an older spaghetti logo's residue.

1983 Goldstars Script Logo

That particular decal was used on the very early 83 Goldies .The whole decal is in three pieces and the rock and roll fanatics slogan is part of the decal left over from block logo Goldies and late Springys.Once Tokai had sorted out what they were doing with the Goldies a new one piece decal was applied with a new more confident slogan.Gabe.

Hi Pete, the Goldie St 50 which I bought in 83 (and still own)had a 3 piece script logo,When I say 3 piece I mean 3 separate decals."Tokai", then in small block capitals" made in japan by rock and roll fanatics" then" Goldstar sound".There is a fourth decal on the headstock with oldies but goldies as is expected.I have seen a few of these 3 piece logos over the years and the owners all verify that they were bought in 83.Gabe.

The tokai script was also a lighter shade of gold on the 3 piece Goldie/fanatic decals than the later ones. All the 83 ones I've seen are the same lighter shade.

Your decal looks to be the same shade as mine, so looks like not related to 3 piece decal and changed a bit later.

My SO 60 is one piece block logo decal, L12126 which is 85 guitars later!

It’s hard to unwind this since there are different markets involved.

It looks like block logos and script ran simultaneously beginning late in 1982. November is the earliest script I’ve seen.
