I just spotted something really cool in Peter's book.
Note the catalog dates!
Script logo guitars in a catalog printed March 1983!!!
Having that date confirms what I had been thinking. That it was a mid year change in 1983.
"Transition Models : BLOCK style for the European market
In late-82 the logo altered to a BLOCK lettering with the low flyer altered to 'MADE IN JAPAN BY ROCK AND ROLL FANATICS'.
This logo was used in late 82 / early 83 and was shipped with both Springy Sound and the new Goldstar Sound decals. These were offered to the U.K. market and some parts of Europe, whilst Asia (including Australia) still used the Spaghetti logo.
Interestingly, no catalogs were released showing the Block logo - 1982 Vol 6 (printed Dec '82) shows the spaghetti Springy logo whilst 1983 Vol 7 (printed Mar '83) shows the script Goldstar logo."
