Selling my 1980 Tokai Les Paul Reborn LS-100. I imported this guitar from Japan 10 years ago, it came all original except the DiMarzio PAFs were replaced with Seth Lovers, the original DiMarzio PAFs were in the case. The following is how the guitar is set up now:
  • Replaced the circuit board with CTS pots;
  • Replaced the Japanese caps with Vitamin Q's;
  • Replaced the Seth Lovers with Dry Z pickups;
  • Replaced the tailpiece studs with Faber Tone-Lock (I'm pretty sure I did this but not positive);
  • Comes with original Tokai Green hard case; and
  • Comes with original DiMarzio PAFs in the case although I'm not positive they're working.
As you can see in the pics "100" is stamped in the last fret. I'm pretty sure it's a 1-piece back, I can't see a seam at all. The guitar plays and sounds fantastic, I dumped several Les Pauls including an original 1968 when I bought this guitar. There's nothing like the Dry Z pickups, I've had, and still have, several sets.

I'd really like to sell the guitar as it is set up, if I don't get any action I'll pull the Dry Z's, reinstall the DiMarzio's, and sell the Dry Z's separately.

Pics coming ASAP

Asking $3,750 plus shipping

I would say that 3.75 kilos is a very desirable weight for many players. Don’t find very many solid (non-“weight relieved”) body Les Pauls that are that light. That is a huge feature.

Yeah, I play mostly ES guitars and this one is not uncomfortable for me.
