the maple top on that one sure looks interesting ....... I see Dave's sold that one ..... not too far from me ...... I need to get over there and see if Dave will let me play his 1958 Explorer that MS repaired for him years ago

Did you notice the inkie after that with no "1" in the serial number?

never had a LC 'inkie' but I have owned a few of the LS inkies, which I prefer over the regular/typical production embossed serial number LS examples.
From my experience I have found the LS inkies typically have thicker necks versus the embossed serial LS examples which I prefer the thicker neck on the inkies.
I wonder if the LC inkies also have the thicker neck profiles than the embossed serial number LC examples?

That's the super puzzling part, it looks like '1 5590' but it's a Tokai, not a Greco. Maybe just a photographic crack in the matrix.
I think this a proof of a Fujigen made Tokai LC. If you look at the control cavity routes, it's the same as Greco used in 1981. And similar same serial number format. Same short'ish tenon with the 2 dowels as well and pickup cavity routes that I had in a 1982 Greco EGC, not the typical square pickup cavity routes found on Tokai.

Guitar in post #9 back on the market.

Tokai Custom five digit number

Tokai/Electric Guitar/Les Paul Custom Model/67

●The exact model number is unknown, but it seems to be from the late 70's to early 80's because it has a 2-point truss rod cover. The serial number is stamped 1 5560 on the back of the head. ●It seems to have been used infrequently and there are some scratches on the pickguard, but there is no noticeable damage or cracks. The neck is almost straight, the frets have almost no wear, the metal parts are dull, and the truss rod has not been touched. The pickup appears to be original, as are the Goto PAF and electrical parts. ●The escutcheon is damaged due to aging, and the screws that were broken due to rust remain in the body, so it will be listed as junk. Please note that other details are unknown. This item is in its current condition and is subject to repair. Warranty repairs are not possible.

I just noticed the 1981 Arched Top catalog lists LC60 & LC60M as polyester finishes as well as the LS50.

I have to wonder if this is in some way related to inkie production/outsourcing.
