1980 CE1000D /SNAPPY SW100D

Has any one ever come accross one of these? Seems to have higher specs than model would suggest. Seller claims Tokai had a contract with Martin at the time for domestic Market.

I have seen these or this one before several times.

I had assumed it was a limited store run?

Not sure if I see a difference. Might just be a store label?

Interesting that the font on the serial number on the SNAPPY label is similar to Tokai's.





Maybe limited store run? And it is conveniently over the Cat's Eyes stamp on the center strip.

But honestly looks like the stock CE1000D.

And yes, Tokai had a contract to make guitars for Martin over many years starting in the mid 1970s.

Lots of confusion around the MIJ Tokai acoustic serial numbers. I don't claim to understand them.

The later Chinese ones are much easier to sort out. Those are date based. Not sure about these.
