Yeah, I must say I played an (I assume, for like 1100?) Japanese love rock in music maker, and it really was just effortless to play, which I think is one of the most important things to look for, for me. I didn't hear it through an amp, but pickups etc can always be tinkered with :)

You're right! It used to be at least, and that's why they have come out with the soapbar II in the shape of the mc carty models, but it has driven the price of the guitars up 100 or so..

Okay so I've found out a bit about Tokai's PRS guitars but it seems that info is really rare. I know there are..or were, MIJ ones around somewhere before. Does anyone know why some of them would have a PRS shaped headstock and why some would have the headstock with two little horns at the top...

The ebay guy never got back to me, but its early days still. Noriko from Ishibashi has found out for me that they are available for export, but are not sold in the Japanese market. I'm not exactly sure what that implys, or if they are available or what, but its a start :)
