    Dragonfly guitars

Have you guys checked out the Dragonfly guitars? They look like QUALITY guitars and basses. http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/shopping_20.php?state=1&cate=1&s_cate=1&brand=48 I guess the company that makes them is Harry's: http://www.harrysjp.com/harrys/news/news.html But Ikebe has better pictures...

    bakersfield guitar picks

Does anyone know about "bakersfield" guitar picks? I ask because I found an old one (early/mid 70s) recently. Dunlop owns the brand and reissued them for a time. (Supposedly, Dunlop also owns the "Echoplex" name, but never reissued a tape echo machine of their own.)

Orville by Gibson Sunburst Reissue on eBay

www.bluzey.com has a nice looking Orville by Gibson Sunburst Reissue on eBay right now. It's got a "reissue" type serial number, 3 2320, but it doesn't have fret edge binding. Kind of odd.

Gibson should fight 'em, not sue 'em.

Over the weekend, the Gibson ads in a couple guitar magazines made me wonder why Gibson doesn't "fight" their competitors? I mean, suing PRS and others (see below for info on their suit against Fernandes) is one thing, making a model or two to go head to head against PRS in the marketplace is...

WTB: your unwanted single coil pickups

I have begun winding pickups. The first was a rewinding of a mid-70s Strat pickup. It turned out well :D If you've replaced the cheapo "import" pickups from your Asian or Mexican strat/copy with some nice Seymour Duncan or other higher quality pickups and would consider parting with the...

One of the last Orville's on ebay

It's not my auction, but I wanted to point out item number 7383898970, a Gold Top Orville Les Paul, because it's got the most recent Serial Number I've ever seen on an Orville, 806399, which indicates it was made in June of 1998. There couldn't have been many Orville's made after this one!

    sweet INEXPENSIVE tube amp

Check out the US$120 Epiphone Valve Junior tube amp. It's got a 12AX7 and EL84 tube set up, 5 watts. 8" speaker. One volume control that dials in some pretty nice distortion. Last night, I used it in a band practice, the first since getting it as a Xmas present. I set the volume at 3:00 and...

SHOW US YOUR OTHER! pics thread

Us "other" owners should have a pics thread! Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to link to a pic, so I'll just give the URL of my homepage: http://www.hickoryshomepage.com/Orville_Owner_page.htm where you can click on a pic of my Orville by Gibson Firebird (and download some MP3's of my...

    Orville by Gibson Catalogue Information

I have posted model information from two Orville by Gibson catalogues (1992 and 1997) at the forum at univox.org. I put it there because it was html enabled (it would display the html table I created). I forgot to say there that all fingerboards in these catalogs are rosewood except where...

    Orville by Gibson Serial numbers

Howdy, I'm new to this forum. I have three Orville by Gibson guitars (got my first in 1998). Recently I have been trying to gather serial numbers from early models (1988 & 1989) to get the scheme down. Also the numbers that were on stickers or "K" numbers don't seem to follow the main...
