    1980 TE50GS

The seller says “read description carefully”, but includes zero details about the guitar hahaha.

Lotus Telecaster - Japanese or Korean?

This Lotus is listed near me for a fair price, and my nephew has “telecaster” on his Christmas list, but I’m hesitant to make the drive for it if it’s a Korean guitar. I’ve read that Lotus was first manufactured by Morris/Moridaira in its nascent days, but quickly moved to Korean manufacturing...

    Mystery pickups in ‘81 Breezysound

I was glad to find some so soon as well! The seller said they come out of a late 80’s Breezy, and the back stamps did appear to have smaller font than the other two pair. If I hadn’t let excitement get the best of me, I would have thought to put them on a multimeter too before soldering them in...

    Mystery pickups in ‘81 Breezysound

Update: The mystery bridge pickup read 6.92k and the mystery neck read 7.25k. However, the good news is that I found some TEBs for sale this week, received and installed them (along with some 1meg pots, and the simple treble bleed)! I’m even happier with this guitar now. Thanks for the input!

    Mystery pickups in ‘81 Breezysound

Thanks to a connection I made on my first Tokai purchase, I was able to get help purchasing and importing this 1981 TE55N that was shared here in the Sightings section: Thread '1981 TE55N' 1981 TE55N My appreciation to those who routinely post there! It arrived yesterday, so I started checking...

    NGD: 1982 TE-70YSR

Interesting to read about your experience with the stock electronics! Even with the tone rolled way back on the bridge, it sounds great in the mix. Seeing your photos reminds me that my caps are worth checking too, with regards to tonality and values.

WTB: 1 meg pots for early 80’s Breezysound

I recently bought another 81 Breezysound that has had the original pots replaced with 250k pots. My other Breezysound still has the stock 1 meg potentiometers, and I’ve set my signal chain up to accommodate that brighter sound. I’d like to fit some 1 megs in my newly purchased TE70, so I can use...

    Fernandes FTE Telecaster Nut Widths

I ordered and received a Fernandes tele today (as best I can tell, an FTE70 from the late 70’s: Spaghetti logo, SN 61304). All in all not a bad guitar by any means, but the neck feels painfully small! The nut width measures to ~39mm/1.5354….inches. That comes up skinny compared to any production...

    Breezy Identification

Ah, so would the necks like my TE55N be pastiches of the 50s? (EDIT: found your answer to a previous querent in this thread: Tokai Telecaster Breezysound 1982 Sorry for the redundant questions. Indeed a 50's style neck) I decided to see what the electronics situation was like, and grabbed some...

    Breezy Identification

Attaching some photos of my breezysound. In case they don't come through, or don't show clearly, my neck heel is stamped 11 =9, and SN is 1019514. The body appears to be 3 pieces, and my bridge is/was chrome plated instead of gold. I have not found a model number or code stamped anywhere on my...
