    Greco "deep tenon" super reals

Like this 1982 EG59-50 with FEB and Super Real on the headstock - somewhat unusual and seems to be a transition model.

I haven't played it enough to really offer a definitive opinion, but I will say its quite snappy and upper midrangey. I have to try it through some other amps in the near future to see how it compares to my other Tokai LP's. Could be one of those "cut through the mix" type LP's, but more playing...

Am I wrong or does the seller have the "Les Paul Reborn" vs "Reborn Old" frequency reversed ?

Bacchus BLP-FM Relic Looks Like the Rev's 'Pearly Gates' now with Dry Zs

Regarding having second thoughts, I'm still in the hoarding mode so haven't had to sell many of my guitars yet - but that's coming soon over the next few years. Downsizing to a smaller house will leave me no choice, although the amp collection does take up more room so probably have to sell more...

    Mystery Custom LC

Not sure why but I didn't take photos of the bridge and tailpiece for this one - I usually do when disassembling a guitar. Refret is likely but I don't have any information other than what you observed. Quite sure the circuit board was removed and the CTS pots were installed at the same time as...

Yes I agree that is entirely possible - even likely

Snow White 1985 Piare LC-60? (55 or 60, LC or PLC?)

That is interesting yes - do we have anyone in the forums that worked at Tokai in the mid 80's ? Must have been a little chaotic in that period with all this OEM stuff going on

Snow White 1985 Piare LC-60? (55 or 60, LC or PLC?)

Yes I got it from Japan on an auction a few years ago. The other LC60 is discussed here https://www.tokaiforum.com/threads/mystery-custom-lc.28344/#post-212486 It could have been a Piare at some point for all I know - but for whatever reason it really sounds great

Snow White 1985 Piare LC-60? (55 or 60, LC or PLC?)

Thought I better join the Piare Party - serial number 5032038 is pretty close the OP's guitar and it also has the 1988 pots. And the original toggle switch is okay so I left it in there. Nice playing and sounds quite good - doesn't compare to the more recent LC60 I picked up recently but still a...

Bacchus BLP-FM Relic Looks Like the Rev's 'Pearly Gates' now with Dry Zs

I have to agree regarding the limited number produced. Another way to look at it is it wouldn't take as much sleuthing if they were everywhere - less reward when a person finds one maybe ? Based on what I think how often this one will be in my played guitar rotation, its probably a good thing...

Bacchus BLP-FM Relic Looks Like the Rev's 'Pearly Gates' now with Dry Zs

Okay so from this era some were ordered this way or maybe a limited run with Bigsbys ? Pretty sure the issue is solved on mine with the tuning issues, the arm moves quite freely now. Just have to decide what gauge strings to use and finish reassembling it

Bacchus BLP-FM Relic Looks Like the Rev's 'Pearly Gates' now with Dry Zs

I took apart the Bigsby and the arm was definitely sticking so waiting for the penetrating oil to loosen it up. I didnt realize these were factory ordered with the Bigsby - check the photo. Is yours the same ?

Bacchus BLP-FM Relic Looks Like the Rev's 'Pearly Gates' now with Dry Zs

Racing Striped Top ! I think its safe to say that is an all mahogany custom ? I weighed it just now and bathroom scale says 10.0 pounds - which is pretty decent for an LP with the Bigsby installed. Played it for about 15 minutes before I change strings and pull the pickups/etc. through my...

Bacchus BLP-FM Relic Looks Like the Rev's 'Pearly Gates' now with Dry Zs

This is one I haven't had a chance to pull apart ( or really even play much ) yet since it arrived. Is the serial in the right range I wonder ? It is a plaintop and had a Bigsby added as well as the " Momose Beano equivalent " pickups, according to the seller. Really nice fit and finish - but I...

    TST70 ET

Okay that could very easily be - its going to be my forever strat in any case. A joy to play, even though it will need some fret levelling at some point. Totally happy with those U pickups. I've had some good luck lately !

    LS100 Gallery

Definitely enjoying it - seems to have a barky midrange that my other Tokais don't have. It could be the Dimarzios but even unplugged there is something going on with the D and G strings that somehow sound a little louder than on my other LPs. Not a resonance so much as volume. And nothing much...

    TST70 ET

So I finally got around to disassembling my 1983 Springy Sound with the ET "treatment" - likely an ST50 before the ET was installed, but I haven't been able to find any seams in the body yet, but quite sure they are there. C shaped one piece neck I think suggests that too ? U stamped pickups as...

Yes that's right - a murky brown color in just that one spot. I suppose its possible the entire back was refinished when the headstock was repaired and refinished, but you'd think if they were going to that trouble, why not do the murky spot as well ? The rest of the guitar doesn't look...
