WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

My big question for you guys is, should there be a locating Peg hole for the tuners on ever Springy from the time period? I know it is on most I've seen. Took me 2 years just to find proper Gotoh Gold pegs for this ST-100 that DID have the locating peg. Cause if that little hole at about 2 'o...

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

The plot thickens. Turns out this neck came from a guitar that was listed as an ST-100. In fact we referenced it in this thread before when the whole guitar was for sale. It actually sold twice, once for Y180K (But that was never finished (Maybe the buyer realized it was fake.) and a second time...

Bought it through Zen Market.Maybe they could do something, But that would probably require me paying for shipping back across the ocean. can’t hurt to check.

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Well it breaks my heart to report that I think the ST-100 neck I got was a fake. It is a beautiful neck with much more flame than in the photos. But likely a fake none the less. There are too many inconsistencies. -It is not a very pronounced V at all. I feel it a bit up by the headstock...

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Got it! A three year quest! The last piece of the puzzel. Little over $300, which, if I ordered a comparable neck from Warmoth or Musikraft, it’d likely be at least that (depending on how figured the wood is when I see it in person. I think there is some birdseye and flame on the back.) Plus...

**** that neck of yours if amazing. In a perfect world I'd hold out for flamed maple neck like yours. But these are already a needle in a haystack to find. The space between the 1 and the 00 seems consistent on the few I've seen stamped on the fretboard. I'd lean toward legit. So the hand...

Was brought to my attention it could be a refret and refinish. Which would explain some things Like the missing stamp and hard to read '100'.

Thanks for keeping your eyes out!! Saw this the moment it was listed (I look every day still, lol!!) So what do you think, there is no stamp on the heel. But it sure looks correct for my guitar. And I sure see a 100 there. Is it legit in your opinion?

    Van Halen EVH Models

Been obsessed with stars lately and have one 5-star. But will have to keep my eye out for a VH 5-star for sure!

Oh I saw that baby instantly when it was listed! So cool. If only it were the same signature! Will be watching for sure.

    Concorde Headstock Tokais

Not mine. A reverse concord w/ maple board. Don't see this combo every day. Plus a 1H. I am in love with this guitar. (Would love that neck on a star body!) From the 80's guitars where are they now FB page.

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Indeed. The plan was to do a whole post about the journey of this guitar from the Goodwill Store floyd mod- back to original form, once finished. (Though I will probably never fill the Mini humbucker route.) Better Pics of when it arrived to me.

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Woah this is getting interesting. Siblings for sure. Your neck appears to be a A stamp V profile. Probably nitro too. If it were C shape and not nitro, I'd start to think mine left the factory with the neck i bought it with! My guitar was modded in about 1984-85, dated because of that particular...

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Yup I did a post about the Springy EVH. And yes the whole ST-100 had been floyd rosed. Been working on this for a long while. Slowly putting it back to stock. Thankfully it was only the small screw floyd post. So a small dowel fill and then I faux finish painted over the dowels to match it to...

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Oh and to be clear, the neck code is not on that 7-piece neck which is currently on the full shots of the guitar. That stamp is on the neck it originally came with. Sorry for the confusion! The original neck it came with is now on this.

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Alas no she had a mini humbucker in the bridge when I got it! But at least they removed as little wood as possible. But the shot of the neck heel is the neck that came with the guitar originally. I really don't think it belonged on there. As mentioned, no A stamp, no V, and not Nitro. THough...

Did he ever sign neck pockets?

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Woah!! Looks similar to that certificate. Do you know who it is? I guess I have never seen an employee signed Tokai neck pocket before. I just assumed some old owner had signed it!!

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Here we go in its current status. Has a killer 7 piece neck on it now. Not sure who made it. Got it from Japan. But naturally it isn't the original neck or even Tokai. The guitar originally came with an ST-50 or 60 neck I believe. Not a V profile. No letter A stamp and not nitro. I now have it...

WTB ST-100 neck and Gold Tremolo

Bought! Thanks. Holy cow this has been an epic quest. I think the last thing I need is a neck. Not sure why I thought the trems were out of stock last time we talked. Maybe I was thinking about a ST-100 neck you thought you may have had somewhere?
