Ibanez Collectors forum will be helpful. I had them (2 conductor style) in a 1980 AR100 Artist and they were powerhouses. Strong mids. If you are planning on doing a full rewire I'd recommend making sure you get some potentiometers metered at 500k or more. Super pots is what some call them...
I have an 1986 Goldstar Sound and it has the same headstock but has a serial number on backplate. Pull the pickguard off at next string change and you will find the ink stamps in the control cavity and pickup route.
Never seen those hangtags or poster! Very cool.
These early Ibanez hollowbodies rarely seem to dip below $1200 U.S. as far as the ones on ebay sold in the U.S.A. and also keep in mind Ibanez enthusiasts prefer original condition examples. Not sure what $1200 equates to money wise in your locale. Your on a slippery slope depreciation wise with...
I figured I'd do some searching on google for Fender 62 reissues where people swapped out their bridges, not that I expect Tokai specs to be spot on with Fender...but probably in same ballpark I'd guess.
Fender Highway 1 bridges fit the vintage style mounting holes, but string spacing is...
I've already upgraded this guitars electronics and tuners and am quite happy so far. I'd like to find a quality trem unit that I could swap in. Is there a higher quality Fender or aftermarket unit that would pop in without much modification?
I'm thinking about checking out a Fernandes Tele thinline copy that might be put up for sale.
Would really appreciate your insight into what year(s) this could be and what is an expected price to pay for one. Supposedly in Very Good condition.
Could this be a Tokai Gakki production?
Thanks...

I just restrung my tune-o-matic equipped guitar and put about 2 wraps worth of adhesive copper shielding tape around the posts that the bridge sits on.
Works great and fits snug enough that there is just enough grip to keep the bridge from falling off during string changes. Not to mention my...
If it's anything like my Goldstar as far as build quality you got a winner! It would have been a pure impulse buy on my behalf, but I know I would have been satisfied. I stopped bidding at $225.
What is the fretboard radius on it? Is the 22nd fret on an overhang off the end of neck? Really...
I was surprised to learn (atleast from what I read in this forum) that Hondo had Tokai build it's "Professional series" Strat replicas.
Is this the only Tokai connection to Hondo II? Or did Tokai play a role in making the Professional or Revival line of Les Paul, Explorer, or Flying V set neck...
Wow! That is nice! Never knew they did a built in distortion (unless that was something you added?) Do you know what model Super Edition was the top of the line for the vintage strat body style? I'm kinda thinking about making something along the lines of an Adrian Smith, or maybe Dave Murray...
That's good news to hear, thanks for the answer!
I think I have some vaseline based chap stick I will use on the threads. When I pulled the neck i made a pen mark on the screw in relation to the fretboard side, cause I am pretty sure that last time I played guitar the relief was just about...
