    Modern Tokai Strats

Diamond, thanks for clarification. I have translated several HST90 specs I found and all them say its was specially ordered thinner than normal finish. One said its only 30% of the normal finish thickness. And some of they say the finish is urethane which I guess is Poly.

    Modern Tokai Strats

Hi Matti, Thanks for your help on the project, made it much easier. 8) Last time I sold a guitar was about 1984 and I still regret it today. So, not likely to happen any time soon. Tony

    Modern Tokai Strats

Thanks! Yes, I am a Les Paul guy since early 80's. This is infact my first guitar with single coils. And I cannot even remember if or when I have player a Strat before this one. Must be long time ago. In fact I have always hated Strat look before but I guess as I get older my taste evolves. I...

    Modern Tokai Strats

Hi, thanks for replying! What models are imported into Portugal? We only get AST-33 and AST-50 here in Finland. Not enough demand I guess. I looked at Tokai catalogue #26 for details on the AST-100. It says GS finish option is lacquer finish. http://www.tokaijapan.com/catalogue/telecaster.html...

    Modern Tokai Strats

Searched but didn't find much about modern Tokai ST-type guitars. What are your experiences with modern production or custom Tokai strats? Both MIC and MIJ are welcome to discussion. Here is my input: I was searching for a vintage Silver Star or Goldstar but didn't find a good one for the...

Please help me IDing this LP Custom

I know very little about Gibsons but it seems wrong that the diamond inlay goes under the tuners. And doesn't Gibson use 2 screw truss rod cover? And I thought Gibson LP Customs have multilayer binding? The binding on that one looks like it was done while drunk and with a sharpie...

Thanks, I like yours too. The winter has just passed here in the north so the garden is only just starting to wake up. During summer I can get really nice landscapes and brilliant sunsets for background. 8)

Which one of the Love Rocks for pickup test platform?

Ok, thanks guys. 8) I'll keep looking. PS. sorry about all the stupid questions. It seems a bit difficult to find info on Tokais as its scattered around many retailer sites, forums etc. Haven't been able to find a comprehensive info package on Tokais - even the catalogues do not tell it...

Which one of the Love Rocks for pickup test platform?

The first one was interesting but the listing ended while I was reading it :( Edit: seller said it was sold. Next two are too expensive vs. new ones when shipping etc. is included. BTW do all Love Rocks have this single simple binding? Its pretty much the same as my ALS48 has.
