Ivan - did you frequent the SOS Forum and if so do you still use a Tweed Deluxe clone?
I got one a few months ago - marvellous thing
Apologies if you are not that Ivan
I am not an expert but from what I have picked up from the forum gurus, the goldstar was IDENTICAL to the springy especially 84/85 but you do need to keep track of the pickup changes.
Looks like mine might be a late 84 ST50 then, other than the round string tree, which I guess could have been added when the Fender logo was applied
Thank you very much for all your help
Will let you know how it goes and stick around and try and contribute to the forum
Thinking about looking...
It would be good to have a probable year of manufacture
Not that it bothers me regarding the purchase of it - if I like it and bond with it, then i'll have it, but it will affect what I am willing to pay
Thanks again
Thank you Len
Just to clarify:
Are you saying the V1 were stamped "V" and
V11 were stamped "V1"?
Cos that's what the marks look like to me
Am I just missing something?
Finally, and thank you for your patience, do the V1 sounds similar to the "E's" and the V11 sound similar to the "U's"?
That might not be bad as I would mainly be playing through a Tweed Deluxe clone that is certainly not shy on bass :)
I am sort of going for a thicker Richard Thompson ish sound - so definitely a 50's strat sound I think
Thank you for the input, much appreciated
Dear All
I have not owned a Tokai for a couple of years and am interested in buying this TST from a store in the UK
Unfortunately it has been Fenderized with a headstock logo
Trying to pin down year and model if possible
It looks like a 2 piece body and has V1 pickups
Here are some photos
Thank...
