The picture is super positive. The guitar is actually more dented and scratched, as the previous owner wasn't really of the "caring" type. I like her non the less. First, I didn't had this "hooo" moment. As the guitar with the modded pickups sounded darker on my Marshall old Marshall head with...

    Tokai certificate of authenticity

I have two Tokai's. One was bought new at RealStandard. It's a real one, but has no certificate. I don't care. This is more of a Gibson thing in my eyes.

Hi hope you enjoy my Bacchus

It's quite original and rather unique. I'm sure the guitar is well made too.

    Questionable Practices

They where, at least, from what I know, a bunch of fake canadian made Tokai's out there. Don't know the years and/or series affected though. Also, at the second you make something in China, a fake of it will come out. So the fact that they are chinese made Tokai imply fake made ones. But there...

    Stunning Newer Tokai LPs

As I was roaming the internet, I encountered a special batch in a japanese shops. Custom LC models, with a natural flamed top and back. They where gorgeous.

If someone was visiting the factory next week..

I don't know if it's possible. But I would like to see where they are stocking their woods. The cantine, where they are eating maybe. And one thing that is always interesting for me, but is the rumor true that they don't have any kind of CNC ?

    Stunning Newer Tokai LPs

Yes. Have seen two of the three. There is also a good amount of black beauties if you roam digimart. The one here have wonderful tops but none is my business when it comes to colour. I'm more of the bourbon burst or dirty lemonburst type. But it's cool to see the top tier Tokai's still beeing...

Orange Drops, Green Chicklets and what Affect Caps Have on Tone

Honestly, if you can't play and/or your amp is worth two pounds of poultry at your local store, there is no reason to go for those extreme mesures. It's a spec, it speaks to the guitar nerd that some of us are. But you will not hear it unless you change the value of the component, or you start...

Best Love Rock model and year

Yes, this would be exactly the kind of no-brainer that I was talking about. Price is excellent, shape is good. This will become a sought after LesPaul clone.

Best Love Rock model and year

I believe they where some really eye candies with top specs in all decades. I have made specially good experiences with 2000-2010 Tokai premiums, whatever they where, the quality of execution was always top notch. I have bought the LS195s from 2004 (must check the serial number again, but it...

Looks like Gibson is intensifying his fight against copies - Tokai ban in the US ?

Today, I stumbled upon a disclaimer on the real standard page for his US customers. This aligns perfectly with the "passive agressive" video that Gibson published last year to underline to their customer, that they WILL go against anything that isn't AUTHENTIC and so on...

@Sigmania. Don't know, difficult to say. I was able to copy/paste a part of the original japanese desciption, but the quality is horrendous. This I can answer. They will gain in value. Just the devaluation of money, and the fact that good quality wooden guitars are becoming more rare. But we...

    LS345

I believe this must be one of those special "english from japanese" translation. Can't say for sure, but I heard that they where different time periods at Gibson with different types of glue, and that vintage freaks will often search for guitars with those features. Maybe its what they wanted to...

I would like to buy my "last" one in the coming year. Had extreme time to put money aside, and I want to do it big one last time, when I will travel to Japan. Guitars are not going to be cheaper, especially when our salaries are not following inflation and material cost rise as quickly.
