Yes, SS60 model only,as it's an early CBS model.....kind of '66.

I have seen very few,and some Silver Stars advertised as 60 by some japanese shops which wasn't at all.Check for an old thread from Peter Mac where he asked for help to get a definitive dating on Silver Stars.
I've told here in this board Silver Stars are the only bang for the buck old Tokais left. I sold my '82 SS36 to a friend who was about to make a record for a local group as guest and he likes the guitar(he always tell me that was a fantastic neck). If I wasn't so tight in funds I would buy another Silver Star again(and I will do it sure in future).

EDIT: I found it http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1157&highlight=silver+star

Thanks for that link Luis. :D

I wonder what pickups were in the higher model Silver Stars, were they Dimarzios like the 'E' Series pickups in the Springy Sounds ?

I think I've found a Silver Star '66 model - I've seen photo's of the pickups and they have grey backs and are stamped 'S'

The only thing against the guitar is that someone, in the past changed the headstock logo to Fender !! - shame on on them

Same pickups as TST60 model(vintage correct for obvious reasons).
SS80 has got DiMarzios pickups and a brass nut.Below SS60, Silver Stars have CBS style pickups....

Hola Luis, hi cherisheyes,

4 bolt neck plates were used on 3 models of Silverstar only
Spagetti logo ( to 1983) = SS60 - pickups grey with 'U' stamp
Script logo (84-88) = TSS60 + TSS80 - not sure about pickups as no-one has recorded a TSS-60 or 80 to date.

Spagetti logo SS-80 had DiMarzio pups with flat poles, not the 'E' type that had staggered poles.

For the record, the Silverstar SS60 had the logo colour same as ST style - tan with black liner whereas the regular Silverstar have Black logo with silver liner.

regards
Peter Mac

Here is my SS60 4 bolt neck, natural colour SS65N, 1982, 6 digit serial number on neck plate, ST vintage U pups, Sen body, Urethane finish, Springy Sound body routing, cbs saddles, and it has the 1982 traditional Tokai logo font on headstock, with a brown Tokai case.
