My buddy went to NAMM and swears he played a new MIJ Gretsch. I know there are older MIJ Gretsch, but I thought Fender stopped that in '03 when they bought them out.

Does anyone any info on new MIJ Gretsch guitars?

Really? The pricing is painfully high for an MIJ guitar. I saw they have a MIJ Elliott Easton model for $700. That seems more than fair, but most their offerings are much more expensive.
 
well, the epiphone john lennon Casino is also made by Terada in japan ( but finished in us) and the price is awfully high too. :)
 
The guitar my buddy played the the Billy-Bo. List $3,000 US Dollars, street price is about $2,200...that's brutal when you consider what you can get from Tokai, Edwards, Greco, Burny, etc.

The reason the Elliot Easton seemed good value may have something to do with Elliot and Gretsch ending their association. Check the link below from the Gretsch discussion boards:
