Looking at a late 70's Burny LP Custom. (after a terrible experience with an Orville) Anyone know what kind of finshes were used on these guitars? Polyurethane, polyester, laquer?

Can anyone comment on Burny quality vs. Orville (not by Gibson)?

From what I've seen/heard, all the Burny's were/are poly finished. I have a '78 Goldtop and it has a fairly thick poly finish. The weird thing is it doesn't feel "cheap" like a lot of poly finished guitars do.
