Found the following Tokai. The seller says it?s a Super Edition, built in the 80?s, serialnr: L20615.

It?s
-candy apple red w/ black pickguard,
-3 x single coils,
-only two (2!) knobs (vol + tone),
-black headstock,
-all black neck (!),
-rosewood (probably) fretboard,
-very clumsy string tree, or actually it?s a string bar.

Can anyone shed some light on this modell. It?s particulary the neck that makes me sceptical. Is it wood or some kind of carbon?
How about the body? What?s it made of?

The neck should be maple. Check the catalogs section at TokaiRegistry.com and look for similar guitars.

I once had a TST-55H prototype that looked like that. It had a vintage tremolo with fine tuners! The body was red and it had a black neck/headstock (maple) and the pickups were h/s/s. All hw was black except for the trem which was chrome! I've seen a few other models that were close to the one you describe, they were probably made in the mid 80's.
