I've been searching through the Registry - needs more tweaking - and have discovered a pattern which I have yet to disprove.

3rd digit = year of manufacture. Can't prove 100% but haven't found anything to disprove yet.

So the next step is to disprove this theory. Start poking holes ...

Not enough Silver Star examples in the Registry to get a good sample.

Hmm, ... very interesting ... I'll start looking . Notice any pattern emerging on those "a=b" numbers? Do we have any records on those?

I mean the numbers like ?5=12? or ?3=9? etc. ? often seen on butt of neck or in body cavities on Fender copies ? if we collected enough of those, then a pattern would surely emerge .
