Is this Tokai African Mahogany?

Post by aroomstudios » Wed Mar 11, 2020 8:28 pm

Is this 2014 Tokai African Mahogany? I own a lot of Tokai and other Mahogany Les Pauls and this one looks very different the wood I mean.

Right click on the image then "View Image" to really zoom into them.

The very 1st picture is the one that makes me this it is African. I have no other African Mahogany guitar to compare this to though. So, this is just a guess on my side.

Thank you. I had a feeling it was. I have a gold top from Tokai being custom made that is coming in 2 months that is African Mahogany. But nothing right now to compare it to.

Yes it is (it remembers the rain just like in my LS150 2005) and it is very well chosen. Could it be a 2 pieces back?

It is a one piece back with a solid top (NOT veneer) and lacquer finish. Also, it does not have the pickguard drilled.
