Welcome to the forum. I think that's a very early one, the number beginning with the 8 implies '78 I believe... does it have the more narrow neck plate too? Looks sweet!

Hello Ryan, thx for your answer. I don't think the neckplate is more narrow.
What you think with this pics?
And you are sur for 78?

After observing the neckplate closer and comparing to other, I think it more narrow.

looks narrow to me! i'm sure that serial is '78 so that would make yours a very early example, as i believe '78 was the first year of production... also a pretty rare color i believe...

Very nice 78.If it is nitro its an ST80 ,if poly an ST60

Hello,

Yes she's very nice and in perfect condition!

This is a ST80 because it's write in the neck pocket.

You can see it in this pic.

78 - first year issue for Springy's. I have a 78 ST60

The other thing you'll notice, the 78's had a rather sharp, angled contour carve on the front - unlike the more smooth Fender contours and later Springy models. Here's another one from a forum member showing the carve

Narrow plate measurements;

Nice!

I always identified my 78 narrow plate as being too narrow to stamp in the serial number between the top two screws - compared to the standard plate size.

hi everibody, Im back for one question.

There is written "ST80" with Hand and pencil in the neckpocket .
Have you ever seen that?

Are the "V" neck and "E" PU always ST80?

Not sure ;) I can see a lot of ST50 and ST60 with a "E" PU.

Yes, ST-60s have E pickups as well.

Yes for sure, I have two 84 Goldstars 60's, one maple board and one rosewood board, both with E's
