Hi there,

New to the site, very interested in these guitars. I've come across this locally - which I'm thinking of purchasing, however - I'm not sure if it's legit (potential copy...?) as I can't see anything aluding to the fact that it's Japanese, Korean or even Chinese. I've had a good look around the site and I just can't make it out...

What's weird (to me anyway) is the Fender body and the almost Ibanez-like headstock.

Anyone got any ideas? :)

I'm no expert on these Custom Editions, but the ones I've seen with this Charvel/Jackson type headstock and scripted logo has been Japanese Tokais, and from the mid/late eighties.

I might be wrong, but I don't think there were any Korean or Chinese models of these, at least back then.

Thanks for the response, most helpful :)

Think it's worth purchasing? I'm not interested in cashing in, I've just always wanted a 1980's Fender type Japanese guitar (thus my interest in Tokai) and this looks great. I say it's local, but it's a good 130km away and not really in the 'try before you' buy area.
