"In 2015 I started carrying Tokai guitars here on the site. These guitars come straight from the Tokai factory in Hamamatsu and are all made in Japan! People, every part is produced in Japan (every capacitor, knob, switch, pot, bridge, pin, plate, screw, truss rod, nut, frets, body, neck, etc.) and these guitars represent some of the finest quality you can find. Many of the parts are made by the famous Gotoh company, including the pickups.
The guitars I’m carrying here are genuine Tokai and come with a factory card including a warranty that I will honor here in the USA. These are set-up at the factory and I open them up for inspection and then repackage the guitars in the original boxes. Tokai sets these up for low action, so they will need some final tweaking and minor adjustments on your end to match your playing style and preferences.
After I wrote my book on vintage Japanese guitars, I’ve been able to establish some really good relationships with many of the Japanese guitar factories. I really was impressed with the Tokai factory and their work. This is truly a family business, and is now being run by a third generation!
For some reason, Tokai has experienced a huge problem with counterfeit guitars coming from China and other countries. The Tokai Love Rock models are especially prone to counterfeit so be wary of any Tokai guitars sold here in the USA!"
