I know the ST-80 is supposed to have a two piece body but it isn't so on this guitar.
Is this unusual or rare?

Rare and unusual :wink:, but there are a few possible examples of one piece ST80 Springy Sounds.
The one I used to own and sold to someone in Australia looked like a 1-pc body but was a 2-piece. It had great matching of the halves so it was hard to tell but when you looked at the back closely it was apparent.

Yeah, it is a nice looking top - but it's flat sawn, not quarter sawn.
