|
Hello Tokai Fans,
i?m the webmaster of the Tokai Guitars Pictures Page, URL:
http://members.lycos.co.uk/tokaiguitars/index.htm
I updated my site today and i found out that Lycos UK, my free web host had introduced a new type of ads that eat up ? 20 % of the screen on the right side of the page! Promoting GIBSON guitars! AAAAAARGHHH!!
Can anybody out there provide me with ? 100 MB of FREE webspace without ads, popups etc. and with enough traffic for 50 to 60 visitors a day? I put so much work into this page, hate to see it being f***ed up like this. Thanks, i would appreciate your help. Mail me at fmunniksma@home.nl
Best regards,
Freek the Tokai Freak. |

OK, so this was the reason for deleting your index.htm? Honestly I don't care for the Lycos frame on the right side of your pages, i.e. hardly noticing it, but this might also be due to my 19" TFT display, so the main part is still large enough in my opinion. And of course it is much more eye-appealing, too!

If you are still interested in this, you could try to register for a free account at the German provider www.freenet.de who is offering 60 MB web space and unlimited traffic at a maximum file size of 1.5 MB. But I'm not sure if they check your postal address and only allow users from Germany then. Maybe there's a similar provider in the Netherlands, too?
Probably Ned couldn't host this amount of pictures on his servers without having to pay for the increased traffic. The picture section on his main site is already a selection because of this issue, as far as I remember. _________________ ZZee ya, Hans-Jürgen

Hans is right about traffic. If someone where to sponsor the picture section I would be glad to host. Pic files are large and consumer a good portion of the month bandwidth that is allocated to the site.
Any free site that uses contectual advertising will probably show Gibson ads but you may want to try GeoCities as well. _________________ Tokai Guitar Info

If munkieNL would upload his index.htm again, it would be possible to link between your site and his for pictures, wouldn't it? That way the traffic would be divided between different providers. _________________ ZZee ya, Hans-Jürgen

I know this is a bit of an old post, but if you still need the web space, I can give it to you. |
