Recently, I spoke to the owner of a 1982 (I believe, L038XX serial) Springy Sound. It appeared to be externally identical to my ST-60 from the same year, but it didn't have a model sticker.

The weird thing is that apparently, the original pickups are stamped H, not U or E. I can hardly find any mention of H-stamps anywhere and I've certainly never heard of them before.

Any info at all would be much appreciated.

I have seen H stamped pickups before ,they had unstaggered alnico polepieces(I might be wrong about this) ,grey backs and were usually fitted to Silverstars,I have never heard of a Springy with Hs.They were overwound if my memory serves me well. H might stand for Hot.Gabe.

Interesting links, thanks very much, Gabe.

The ones in the first link certainly look like normal Silver Star pups aside from the stamp, with the blue and black leads.

I guess they're not original to the guy's guitar then. Just as well, perhaps, he's alredy put Lace Sensors in it. Oh well.
