photos here on this auction :

yeah, it looks like the same neck as my '78,except mine has a single button style string retainer instead of 2 butterfly style ones ,serial # would determine year, don't know the exact model it is though...

Yeah, I thought up to 1980/81 all lower end maple board Greco strats had the single button string retainers. The rest a single butterfly style one. I think the second has been added.

Thank You for Your anwsers, but i can't make a contact with the seller, becasue the phone number he wrote is wrong. So there's no chance to even check this baby.

Nope.

Maybe I am missing something about the point being made, but my 79 SE500 has two butterfly string trees and my 78 SE600 has the single disc type tree.

I can't figure out how to post pics here, but I am sure there are more examples on the web.

On the link below, guitar#F3-64NL is an SE500 from 1978 with the two butterfly string trees.

edit: I think I misunderstood since I could not see the guitar in the original post. Are you saying that rosewood fingerboard models are different? If so, I apologize. My SE500 is olympic white with rosewood fingerboard.

Yep, that's what I meant. Please do not apologize, I was just interested if you knew of any anomaly's, love those! Thanks for the input!
