Need help identifying my Tokai

Post by DeepDee » Wed May 04, 2011 3:44 pm

Hi,
couldn't find any information about this bass.
Can anyone help?

Edit:
Just found some info here in the pics thread ...

Can anyone confirm this:
Even though the original poster asked for pics of vintage Tokais, i guess this is nevertheless the right place to introduce to you my precious, a mid-2000s Tokai SEB Jazz-style prototype. One of only two of its kind, and the only one made with an alder body. It's got fantastic Bartolini PUs and dead quiet electronics. I feel really lucky to play this amazing instrument.

I have this bass's alder twin (see pictures thread)... when I got it two years ago I wrote directly to Tokai to ask for information.

I got a very kind response from Mr Shohei Adachi, president of Tokai Gakki, himself. He told me that these basses were prototypes for testing
the SEB body construction. Only two were made: they were sold to Tokai's US distributor in 2006 and one was shown at the 2006 NAMM.

I have the alder model, the one on your pictures is the ash version.

Hope this helps. I really can't say enough about mine, it's amazing.
