A question for Ned / the mods.

Some sites I go on allow you to put proper youtube links in posts, rather than just addresses.

Any chance of this feature becoming possible on here in the future?

Should work now you just need to use the YouTube code for embedding the video.

What's the difference than just posting the youtube link?

Code:
<iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2hMFl9HStPc" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen></iframe>

I can't get it to work either.

When I say 'embed' I mean have an actual screen shot / link to the respective youtube link. You know, with pictures...so you can play the film in the post you've linked it to.

What's wrong with just making one click on this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fa4HUiFJ6c

I don't need to see the thumbnail of what I'm clicking

A picture worth a thousand words.

People may be more likely to click a picture that looks interesting than follow a link to another site.

Perhaps. Myself, I care more about the content than the window dressing.

It's just a suggestion to try and make the site a bit more colourful and interactive.

Cheers for your input.

I've discovered a lot of new bands through said links on sites I frequent, purely because you're not looking at a line of impersonal/meaningless letters. It draws you in. It's human nature.

I understand if Ned can't do it as I don't think this site could enable it.

Here's hoping though. I'd love it. Especially for the tune of the day thread.

I know what you're saying, it's not just window dressing. A preview picture could spark curiosity and the imagination(for people blessed with those qualities).
Of course the content is what's important but a little lure to the content might get viewers that otherwise would pass on it and miss out.

Why not use it if possible? Live it up.
