I bought this recently, and I am very happy! I am told these are identical to the OBGs made up until 1998. This is a 1999 model, which as I understand it were the first made by Epiphone by Gibson. Apart from the obvious logo change, I have heard some express the opinion that the electronics were also changed in 1999. Does anyone have an informed opinion on this?
Its a better sounding guitar than my top of the line G&L for anything warm - rock - blues - jazz.

That's a Terada made guitar with the J serial number.

Terada made most of the OBG and Orville Semi Acoustics and Terada also made the Epiphone Japan Semi Acoustics starting from 1987 and these Epiphone Japan Semi Acoustics were not made in great numbers as the OBG's and Orvilles were the main thing from 1988 up until 1998 when the Orvilles were dropped and then Epiphone Japan became the main thing.

So it should be a fine guitar.
